The Festive Edit

Festive is the occasion register for clothing built around India's calendar of celebrations, Diwali, Eid, Durga Puja, Navratri, and the many regional festivals and family functions that call for something more than everyday dressing but stop short of a wedding's formality. Festive pieces tend toward brighter color, visible embellishment, and richer fabric than daily wear, without the structural weight of full ceremony dressing. Because the festive calendar spans the whole year and multiple regions and communities, the register covers a wide range: a simple embroidered kurta for one evening, a heavily worked lehenga for another. What defines festive is the occasion it answers, not one fixed silhouette or price point.
